Terms of service

These terms cover your use of bemention.com and BeMention's paid plans (“the service”). By using the service you agree to them. Questions go to hello@bemention.com.

What BeMention does

BeMention asks AI assistants (today, ChatGPT with web search) the questions customers in a city ask about local services. It records which businesses the answers recommend and which websites they cite, and reports the results. The free check and the public city rankings are provided as they are, at no charge.

No guarantee of results

AI answers change between conversations, over time and from person to person. Our reports are a dated sample of those answers, not a record of every conversation. We don't control what AI assistants say, and we don't promise that any business will be recommended, ranked higher or win more customers.

Plans, billing and renewal

• Our order process is run by our online reseller, Polar (polar.sh), which is the merchant of record for all orders. Polar processes payment, collects any sales tax and issues your receipt.
• Paid plans are subscriptions billed in advance in US dollars, and renew automatically until you cancel.
• You can cancel anytime from the link in your receipt or by emailing us. You keep access until the end of the period you paid for.
• Introductory prices, such as the founding offer, apply for the stated period. After that the plan's regular price applies, and we email you before the first regular charge.
• Refunds follow our refund policy.

Using the service fairly

• Use the service lawfully, and give accurate details when you request a check or a plan.
• Don't try to disrupt the service, get around its limits, or copy the site in bulk with automated tools.
• Don't use our reports to mislead customers, for example by claiming a recommendation or rank you didn't receive.

Public city rankings

City pages show which businesses AI assistants named in our measurements, with the date and the questions we asked. They report what the assistants said. They are not our review or endorsement of any business. If you represent a business and think an entry is wrong, email us and we'll look into it.

Your reports and our work

You may share your own reports freely. Agency plans may present reports under the agency's name. The site, the software, the method and the rankings belong to BeMention.

Changes to the service

We may change or retire features. If we stop offering a plan you've paid for, we refund the unused, prepaid part. If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll update this page and email subscribers first.

Liability

The service is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, BeMention isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before it.
